Takiya was raised as a thief and an actress, learning at a young age to always put her own interests at heart. One day, she heard that a prince of a faraway kingdom was visiting her kingdom, and wondered if she could manipulate him for money. So she drafted up a plan, and made her move. The plan went flawlessly, except for one tiny problem: she started to actually enjoy the prince’s company. Horrified at the thought, she constantly reminded herself that it’s all just a ruse, that she’s only after his money. The prince later proposed to her, much to her dismay. Of course, Takiya did not enjoy being married to the prince. While the prince was away on his frequent campaigns, Takiya explored the halls of her new castle home. Inside the library, she discovered a massive collection of books about youkai magic. With nothing better to do, she studied the books inside and out, until she was confident that her skills surpassed even those of the prince. While her husband was away on another one of his meetings, Takiya discovered that he was planning on invading her old kingdom, not for any strategic reasons, but simply to fulfill a treaty. And that’s when she realized that she could not stand his face anymore. In order to escape her husband, she made up a new plan. To fake her death and escape to a new land, with a new identity in hand. A few years later, she learned of what happened to her old kingdom: unfortunately, the kingdom was no match for the prince’s youkai magic, and had succumbed. Out of spite, Takiya decided to take revenge on him. But she knew that the prince was a formidable foe, so she drew up her most elaborate plan yet. With her impersonation magic, she created a fantasy world of her own: The “Anthology of Forgotten Fables”. And within her newfound world, she impersonated the Takiyasha legend, becoming the witch that appears in the story. Using her new identity and scroll, Takiya went around offering contracts to weak, desperate youkai, then incubating them to full strength inside the scroll. Soon, she would have an unstoppable army at her command. So when Takiya sensed a group escaping from the scroll, she knew something had gone very, very wrong. Arriving at the scene, she was shocked to find herself face-to-face with three humans. But no matter. Truth is, she doesn’t care that much about what happens to the youkai within the scroll. So long as she could use the energy stored within the scroll to summon an even more powerful youkai to do her bidding, she would be satisfied. With her illusion powers fully maxed out, she challenged the protagonists to one final duel.
