One of the new arrivals to Gensokyo as a result of the Seawater Flood Incident.
She’s a sazae-oni who makes a living selling precious stones, specially the golden pearls crafted by her own abilities. Though she’s an aquatic snail youkai, she prefers to spend much of her time on land, particularly sandy beaches.
To her, larger pearls tend to be of more value, and what she usually uses to make these pearls are a certain kind of “treasure” carried by wicked/deviant men. When that isn’t available, however, she’ll make due with things like large stones.
Whenever she gets badly damaged, she’ll retreat into her shell (which is normally hidden from view) to gradually heal herself while using the eye on her hair to look out for external threats and the like. This was the case when she was apprehended by the heroine while trying to sell her pearls outside the Hakurei Shrine.
She had nothing to do with the incident as a whole, she was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.
