Not to be confused with "chaos" as in "disorder, upheaval, and turmoil". This "Chaos" means the void, the endless primordial state before the creation of everything.	切勿与意为“混乱、剧变和动荡”的“混沌”一词混淆。 这里的“混沌”指的是万物诞生之前的虚空，永无止境的原始状态。
Before the creation of universe, there was a large, gaping void of primordial space. She was there, before everything came to be. No one knows from whence she came; all that is known is that she has existed for aeons, unchanging and unrelenting, perpetually roaming the cosmos.	在宇宙诞生之前，有着一片巨大充满虚空的原始空间。 她就在那儿，在一切发生之前。 无人知晓她来自何方，只知道她已存在亿万斯年， 亘古不变而冷漠无情，永远在宇宙中漫游。
In the ancient age, the Outer Gods and Great Old Ones were those who ruled over the Earth. People and gods coexisted in peace. She never really did much, however. Because she is basically too powerful herself, she prefered roaming the cosmos more, and she left the duty of watching over the world to her assistant, Mitsuru, instead.	在远古时期，外神与旧日支配者统治着地球。 人类与众神和平共处。 但是，她从未插手，因为她实在太过强大了， 她更喜欢在宇宙中漫游，作为代替，她把监控世界的职责交给了助手鸣上光。

When the ancient gods met with a period of decline, Mitsuru had come up with a plan to migrate over to the Dream World. Ayame wasn't sure of it at first, but she decided to go visit a desolate portion of the Dream World, and she tried to conjure up an Onyx Castle there. The Ruler of Dreams, of course, wasn't happy with the decision. This deal bound her physical body to the base of the castle; therefore, under no circumstances can she ever leave the Dream World. She doesn't mind, though, since she doesn't plan to go anywhere else anyways. So she went ahead and accepted the deal.	这一契约要求把她的身体作为城之基础束缚起来，这样彩梦绝无可能离开梦境世界。 彩梦并没有去其他地方的打算，所以她毫不在意。 于是她同意了条件，接受了这一契约。
In order to simplify Kadath's management, she invented the Fire-Water-Wood-Light-Darkness category system, and assigned each god to a category. Her own place of residence is at the center of management, where every element becomes one. As befitting of the position, she assumed the name "Azathoth" as her new identity, derived from the fabled universal solvent "Azoth".	为了便于管理卡达斯，她创造了火-水-木-光-暗的分类系统，并把每一个神明安排在对应的类别中。 她自己的居所是管理中枢，每种元素在这里合而为一。 为了适应这个职位，她把“阿撒托斯”这个名字作为自己的新身份，来源于传说中的万能溶剂“阿佐特”。
Mitsuru's plan to gather faith remotely was called the "Astral Knowledge Base Project". It was a perfect plan for the Outer Gods and Great Old Ones like her and her comrades.	光远程收集信仰的计划被称为“星体知识库计划”。 这是一个为她和其他伙伴这样的外神和旧日支配者准备的完美计划。
The first phase of this plan was to scatter "Elemental Orbs" throughout the world, and use them as transmitters for faith.	计划的第一步是在全世界散布“元素宝珠”， 并将其作为信仰的传送转装置。
However, the plan didn't quite work, as not many people used the orbs in the end. Eventually, the gods decided to move on to their plan of last resort, which was to slowly influence humanity within their dreams. By randomly appearing in their dreams, or by slowly putting knowledge in their heads, more and more humans began to acknowledge the existence of a collective "Astral Knowledge" and, with it, the newly-assumed identities of the gods at Kadath. Regardless of the nature of the "output", though, these things still served as an identity for them, and they could still manage to receive faith that way. The plan was a long-term one; if this supply of faith managed to last them forever, then there shouldn't be any problem. However, it hasn't worked out in the present era. The forbidden tomes are largely destroyed or lost, and the fiction itself only appealed to a very niche audience.	无论最终以何种“形式”，那些东西仍属于众神的身份， 她们依然可以通过这种方式收集信仰。 这是一个长远的计划，如果它能长期稳定地提供信仰，那就没有任何问题。 然而，在当下这个计划失去了作用。 禁书大多遭到销毁或失传，而小说本身也只能吸引少量读者。
With the plan proving to be a failure, the gods at Kadath started to grow very weak. Due to many unfortunate circumstances, they started feeling desparate. In their weakened state, they all decided to go back and visit the Earth one last time. Leaving Ayame alone, restricted to the castle of dreams.	随着计划被证明失败，卡达斯的众神开始变得虚弱。 由于种种不幸的处境，她们感到无比绝望。 在被弱化的状态下，她们都决定回归，并最后一次拜访地球。 而把被梦中之城束缚着的彩梦独自一人留下。
Suddenly, she was visited by humans who emerged from Gensokyo to the castle. Ayame saw this as an opportunity to gather some faith, and therefore tried to confront them. "Maybe there is still some hope left, after all..."	突然，一些从幻想乡来的人类拜访了城中的她。 彩梦觉得这是个收集信仰的机会，因此尝试去接近她们。 “或许还有一些希望残留，毕竟……”
